About Us

The Department Academic Mentorship Programme (DAMP), functioning under the aegis of the Institute Student Mentorship Programme (ISMP), is designed to address the academic challenges faced by undergraduate students within their respective departments. The programme appoints selected senior students, typically from the third and fourth year to serve as mentors, forming the core workforce of the initiative. These mentors are assigned a group of junior students to guide and support, especially those struggling academically. The primary objective is to help such students overcome backlogs and get their academic progress back on track. DAMP mentors work in close coordination with Faculty Advisors and Department Faculty Coordinators to enable early identification of at risk students and ensure consistent monitoring and support. In addition to one-on-one mentoring, the programme also organizes departmental activities such as lab visits, 'fundae' sessions, and tutorial-cum-help sessions to foster academic engagement and peer learning.

Rahul Lande

Hey! I am the current DAMP Coordinator for EP. I enjoy physics, but as of now I am inclined towards pursuing electronics. I'm an avid fantasy book reader, almost an otaku, and thoroughly enjoy playing basketball.

Akshat Kushwah

Hi I'm Akshat. Gotta say I'm a boomer when it comes to mainstream media and hobbies. I love listening to people talk about their niche, so if you need someone to geek out with feel free to find me chilling in comp lab :)

Arya Joshi

Hello! I am Arya, an EP thirdie from Nashik. I am an astrophysics enthusiast and a big ice-cream fanatic. I enjoy watching movies and have recently become addicted to video games. In my free time, I like listening to music or taking a quick nap. You can find me on the table tennis court, or at the department library trying to escape the heat.

Astitva Raj

May not wear a cape but definitely saves the day, your friendly neighbourhood damp

Chinmay Kale

Hey everyone! It's your resident Gunner, Chinmay here! I have a wide variety of interests and hobbies, some including quizzing, watching each and every sport under the sun(even baseball!), speedcubing, and exploring my love for indie games. I am the world's biggest twitter proponent, and spend entirely too much time on there. I'm currently interested in physics research, but the chance of it remaining is as unpredictable as the trajectory of a double pendulum :)

Farhan Ahmad

Hey, I'm Farhan. I'm a curious individual. I'm best known for being a cinephile, my passion for football and my obsession with the financial markets.

G. Nivedha

Heyy, I'm Nivedha-soon-to-be fourthie in EP, from namma Chennai, half Tamil, half Telugu, fully hungry. I love trying new food, exploring places, bingeing movies, getting lost in books, and pretending I still swim (pls drag me to a pool sometime). Always down for a food run, and feel free to reach out anytime, even if it’s just for a random rant!

Pushti Ashar

Hello! I'm Pushti, a fourthie in EP. I love reading(any Sally Rooney fans here?) and making oddly specific playlists. Still figuring things out, but I'm enjoying the ride :)

Samridh Tiwari

Yelo! I come from Gurgaon, Haryana (with roots in Bihar). I love exploring the mysteries of the universe while also trying to decipher the most complex thing in it: the human brain! When I am not asking ChatGPT to write codes for me to do the previous tasks, you can find me in the gym, swimming pool, the football ground, or maybe playing a new random instrument I bought; I also love hiking and documenting my thoughts and philosophy via sketching in my journal.

Sara Ahire

I am Sara Ahire, third year EP student with minor in Mathematics. My academic and research interests span, quantum sensing, algorithms, quantum information and algebra. Beyond academics, I enjoy playing badminton, going on treks and hikes, and watching tennis and F1 :)

Soham Sahasrabuddhe

Hello, I'm Soham, a wannabe physicist who’s endlessly curious. I'm on a mission to understand the universe... or at least fake it convincingly during late-night shenanigans. I’m a huge sports buff: I like to play cricket, football, badminton, hockey, tennis... and I watch F1 because apparently driving at 300 km/h isn’t considered “socially responsible.” Also a quizzer (everything but MELA, thanks), but I like watching movies: Marvel, Nolan, Christian Bale? Yes, please. I'm always ready to rant about HASMEDs (coz therapy is expensive) or geeking out over the latest in physics. And oh if someone says vacation, I am always ready to go!
